EV power inverters for street vehicle or boat conversion

       AC power inverter will take your traction battery DC power and convert it to the three phase AC power for drive induction motor. In these AC inverters required output are constantly calculated based upon the accelerator pedal potentiometer position (power demand), signal from the motor shaft rotation speed and direction sensor (built into the motor), and signal from optional brake potentiometer.

All inverters featured on this site are liquid cooled, provide regenerative braking recuperating energy back to the traction battery. The output power stage is implemented with IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) - either discrete for older designs or as highly integrated modules with thermal management and driver built in. Currently one EVISOL model, two Siemens models, two  MES-DEA models and several BRUSA models are offered.

EVISOL: flagship EVI-200 model. Includes separate main contactors, connectors and wire harness.

MES-DEA: TIM series (TIM-300, 400 and 600 which are 30kW, 50 kW and 100kW peak respectively)

BRUSA: DMC series - high voltage inverters with most sophisticated control and different power options.

Inverters can be supplemented with reliable special TPS (throttle position sensor) designed to work in such application manufactured by Wabash technologies (sold separately). Sensor has redundant elements, integrated switches and return spring, and meant to be installed directly in the accelerator pedal assembly. Communication for inverter programming is implemented via RS-232C interface.

EVISOL inverters meant to replace Siemens inverters and will work with 5135WSxx series motors. Siemens does not currently manufacture power inverters for cars and only makes heavy trucks and bus grade inverters. Therefore inverters from this manufacturer suitable for a car will no longer be available unless Siemens will decide to restart production. Existed surplus stock of Simovert 6SV-1 and Simotion inverters is sold out.

All inverters except EVI-200 meant to work with respective manufacturer's motors only.

Note regarding Siemens inverters:
The inverters are programmed for the motors they intend to be used with and supplied together with motors as a package. MME supplies motors build by Siemens to order with all accompanying documentation and warranty. MMC will not supply Siemens inverters alone to work with any motor you may have, even manufactured by Siemens (such as these or alike). History and parameters of motors not supplied by MMC is not known, interfacing and connectors style often are incompatible, thus correct programming and offering support and  warranty for inverters to work with them is not feasible. MMC supports this policy adopted from EVISOL as MMC supplier. No exceptions. Email inquiries on this subject will be ignored.
